Litigation Legal Secretary

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys within a busy litigation practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in supporting attorneys in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, edit, proofread, and file legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and court filings.
  • Coordinate document production, attorney notebooks, exhibits, and case materials.
  • Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, travel arrangements, and critical deadlines.
  • Maintain electronic and physical client files, open new matters, and process conflict checks.
  • Enter and review attorney time, assist with billing, prebills, invoices, and expense reports.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Support document management, e-filing, redlining, and document comparison processes.
  • Provide administrative and team support, including coverage for colleagues as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of legal administrative experience, preferably supporting litigation attorneys.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures and litigation practices.
  • Strong proofreading, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Typing speed of 50+ WPM.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with legal software such as iManage, Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Litera Compare, or similar platforms is a plus.

Preferred

  • Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Administrative Assistant certificate or degree.
  • Familiarity with electronic court filing systems and legal billing processes.

Compensation

$75,000 - $98,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors.
